Fundamentals of the Swing

The key to a good golf swing is not to play the game from the upper part of the body (shoulders, arms and hands). The actual golf swing works from the waist down. Your legs are the power source, they generate the power and the upper body follows.

Remember that your club hits the ball i.e. align face of club to target. Do not take aim by looking over your shoulder

  • Pick a point in front of the ball in line with your target
  • Place your club exactly in line with this chosen point
  • Align your body exactly parallel to your target line
  • You will now find that your hips and shoulders are aiming left but your club face is aiming at target.
  • Do not readjust your feet to align at target
